Email Response Management

EmailYesterday I crashed. I’m not sure how healthy my work habits are, but I tend to work at the speed of the job. I’ve worked with a couple of my readers this way, too… going for a few nights with no sleep to complete a project. At work, we’re ramping up on many initiatives. I seem to be taking on more work with a schedule that’s already full. When Saturday came, I knocked out a few emails and then spent the rest of the day (and last night) snoozing or in front of the television in a vegetative state. Is this how you guys find yourself working more and more?

Email Response Management

One of the weekend checklist items was to check out the Email Response Management industry. Some background: Email Response Management is server-side technology that allows companies to try to filter, organize, and respond to incoming emails at generic email addresses. Examples can be sales@ or support@ your company.

The number of applications out there is pretty impressive! I’m looking to see what other online vendors are doing. In the Email Service Provider industry, Email Response Management tends to be a secondary function so we don’t really compete with these folks nor do we have the complexity of systems that they do.

With Email Response Management systems, I can apply keyword searches in the subject and body to route my email to the appropriate person. I can also respond to the email immediately with a customized message. One example: I may email a company and ask if they have an

API and support Enterprise Clients. My Email Response Management system will automatically route the email to the sales folks that deal with Enterprise prospects who need API alîkarî.

As well, I would get a nice reply email telling me that they received my email and someone will be in touch soon… in the meantime, please check out these articles and offerings online. Within the links are content links to Enterprise and API articles and offerings on the website that may assist the clients. For support groups, these response emails may even have knowledge-base articles that are written for specific error messages, etc. that were reported in the email.

Without knowing it, we’ve all received emails from these systems. If you’ve had some direct experience with some of these vendors or applications, drop me a line. I’m especially interested if it is a Saas solution. I’d rather we didn’t reinvent the wheel when looking to expand our capabilities.
